Revving up for 2013 Campus Recruiting
09.06.2013. College students, sharpen your resumes, refine your elevator pitch and launder your suits because campus recruiting season is here!
Fall is Frazier & Deeter's prime time to hire all of the interns and entry-level candidates for a full calendar year. This week we will embark on our recruiting tour to seven schools including Auburn, Belmont, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, University of Tennessee and Villanova.
Campus recruiting is an amazing experience and this blog takes a look at how the process works.
Throughout the recruiting process we will meet hundreds of students at career fairs across the country. Then we will learn more about some of those students during on-campus interviews and finally we will invite some students to come to our closest office for final round interviews.
During the campus recruiting process, students always ask, “What sets Frazier & Deeter apart from other firms?” The answer is both simple and complex: our people.
What does that mean? Frazier & Deeter’s recruiting strategy is to hire the “best and brightest” people. But “the best” doesn’t necessarily mean we are looking for students with the highest GPA or even previous accounting experience. At Frazier & Deeter “the Best” individuals are those who have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and are motivated to produce quality work.
As a large CPA firm serving clients around the world, we provide the training to help our people deliver client work. It is the other traits, such as attitude and motivation, that we look for when hiring, because they are personal traits that will ensure success.
In public accounting, it is no secret that you have to work long hours during certain times of the year. However, it makes a tremendous difference if you enjoy the people with whom you are spending so many hours. Our team is hard-working, down-to-earth, laid-back, friendly and motivated. The fact that our people enjoy hanging out with each other outside of work hours, even during busy season, speaks for itself.
The culture of the firm you join will have a big impact on how happy you will be there. Campus recruiting is your first opportunity to learn about the firm’s culture, so keep your eyes open and observe. Frazier & Deeter’s culture emphasizes respect for people, an entrepreneurial spirit, accessibility of partners and quality in everything we do.
